A Linguistic Pattern in which your message is expressed as if by someone else. By attributing a statement or suggestion to a third party, the practitioner can deliver powerful messages while bypassing the client's conscious resistance. The unconscious mind processes the embedded message regardless of the attributed source. Milton Erickson frequently used quotes and extended quotes to deliver therapeutic suggestions indirectly.
