Limiting Decision

A decision made during or in response to a negative or traumatic event, created for the purpose of protection and safety. For example, a child who experiences a frightening car accident may decide 'all cars are dangerous' or 'I am not safe.' The limiting decision is created before the associated limiting beliefs and serves as the root cause of subsequent emotional and behavioral patterns.
